We are a new research group in the recently re-opened Chemistry Department at Swansea University. Our research is based on interfacing molecular and biological catalysts with nanomaterials into functional hybrid materials for solar fuel generation. Our research covers a broad range of energy-related topics including photo- and electrocatalytic CO2 reduction and H2 generation with quantum dots and photocatalytic reforming of waste plastics and biomass. We are also interested in combining fluorine chemistry with solar energy conversion.
PhD funding is currently available from the SURES programme for UK/EU students (see details here). Please get in touch as soon as possible if you are interested in applying for a PhD in the Kuehnel Lab.
