ORCID iD icon I studied Chemistry at the Freie Universität Berlin and obtained my PhD under the supervision of Dieter Lentz, developing homogeneous catalysts for selective C-F bond activation (link to my PhD thesis). This synthetic work covered a broad range of inorganic chemistry and I received aditional training in all spects of fluorine chemistry within the DFG Doctoral Training Centre ‘Fluorine as a Key Element‘. After a short stay with Thomas Braun at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, I joined Erwin Reisner’s lab in Cambridge to develop molecular electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction within the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Sustainable Syngas Chemistry (click here to download my full CV).

My research is at the interface of materials and molecular chemistry, aiming to integrate my various interests and fields of expertise into new approaches towards generating clean, sustainable fuels from abundant resources such as H2O, CO2 and biomass.
